This week, the American Samoa Department of Homeland Security (ASDHS) – through its Territorial Emergency Management Coordination Office (TEMCO) – conducted an All-Hazards Outreach session at Leone Midkiff Elementary School. The event focused on educating students and staff on disaster preparedness, emergency response, and safety awareness.
TEMCO specialists engaged with students in interactive discussions on how to stay safe during natural disasters such as earthquakes, tsunamis, and hurricanes. The team also provided guidance on fire safety, evacuation procedures, and the importance of having emergency plans both at school and at home.
ASDHS remains committed to fostering a culture of preparedness by working closely with schools, businesses, and communities across the territory. Encouraging our youth to be informed and proactive in emergency situations is key to building a more resilient American Samoa.
